Rug Hooking with Sarah Hill

Experience the centuries old art of rug hooking which uses a hand hook, similar in shape to a crochet hook, to form a looped pile from fabric strips or yarn on an even-weave base fabric.


Sock Making on Antique Circular Sock Knitting Machines
11:00 to 6:00 – Main Ex Hall (near the Fleece Show)


Join Gregory Wollon and the Mid-Atlantic Regional Sock-knitters, a regional group of the Circular Sock Machine Society of America dedicated to the preservation and use of circular sock knitting machines. Sock machines were manufactured from the mid-1800s to the 1930s and sold in the US for home use.

Choose Your Partners: Getting Your Fleece Processed with
Judith MacKenzie McCuin Noon to 1:00 – Dining Hall

Many fiber producers are considering the option of adding value to their fiber by having it processed into a saleable product. This lunchtime talk will discuss the many processing options available and how to decide what to do and how to find someone to do it for you. Judith MacKenzie McCuin is a writer, handspinner and yarn designer. She lives in Montana where she manufactures Buffalo Gals bison yarns, Green Sheep organic yarns, and Mother MacKenzie’s Dyes.

If you have always wanted to try spinning, here is your chance! Join the spinners from the Weavers Guild of Greater Baltimore and experience the magical art of handspinning fleece into one-of-a-kind yarn.

Join this congenial gathering of spinners! The Annual Spin-In is geared toward friendly sharing of techniques and genial competition. Bring your spinning wheels, spindles, charkas, etc. to try a variety of fun challenges. Past Spin-In contests have included spinning the longest yarn with a given amount of roving, spinning blindfolded, crossword puzzles of spinning jargon, and spinning with surgical gloves. There is no charge for this fun party and gifts include Leicester laughs, Churro chuckles, and Merino mirth!
